Ohio Cattlemen's Association Staff
Executive Director - Elizabeth Harsh
As Executive Director, Elizabeth directs and coordinates all activities of the Ohio Beef Council and the Ohio Cattlemen’s Association. She is responsible for compliance with the beef checkoff Act & Order and for all OBC/OCA financial statements. Finally, she supervises all OBC/OCA staff.
Andy's position focuses on developing and implementing checkoff funded programs in the areas of consumer advertising, retail, foodservice, veal and nutrition. He also coordinates the OCA Young Cattlemen's Conference, helps plan OCA district meetings, oversees the Foundation's fundraising and scholarship program, and coordinates the Ohio Beef Expo junior show activities.
Director of Accounting & Operations - Ron Windnagel
Ron is responsible for all fiscal activities for Ohio Beef Council, Ohio Cattlemen’s Association, Ohio Cattleman Magazine and Ohio Cattlemen’s Foundation. This includes monthly payables and receivables. Ron generates all monthly financial statements and assists in preparing the annual budget for each entity. For the checkoff, he records all remittances, Ohio and out-of-state, makes deposits and is responsible for the Bi-monthly Checkoff Update mailing to Ohio collection points. Ron is also responsible for payroll and all tax reports. He oversees all computer maintenance, hardware and software, as well as coordinating all building maintenance and repairs. Ron also assists the other Directors in their programs.
Julie coordinates all of OCA’s internal and external communications. Internal communications are focused on OCA members and include the Ohio Cattleman magazine, member e-newsletters and county affiliate newsletters. External communications will include distribution of press releases, coordination of association websites, and management of Facebook and YouTube accounts. She is also responsible for similar communications activities for the Ohio Beef Council through the council’s checkoff-funded demand building programs.
Director of Member Services & BEST Coordinator - Stephanie Sindel
Stephanie coordinates association membership activities including
recruitment and retention programs, county affiliate services and recognition
programs, and membership processing. She works with various agri-business
companies who are members of OCA’s Allied Industry Council and therefore
manages the Ohio Beef Expo Trade Show and Genetic Pathway. She is also responsible
for coordinating the OCA BEST Program, the association’s youth development
program, and advertising for the Ohio Cattleman and The Ring publications.
Administrative Assistant - Laura Schaller
Laura is responsible for the office’s general clerical work, processing OCA memberships, checkoff dollar deposits, stuffs monthly and food editor mailings and ships all educational materials.

OSU Extension Beef Coordinator - John Grimes
John's position focuses on programming to increase consumer confidence and awareness regarding Ohio's beef industry. He also works to add economic value to Ohio's beef production, adoption of on-farm management practices and marketing techniques that add value to the state's feeder calf production, niche markets as a viable marketing option, and efficient forage production and utilization systems.
